Do you offer work experience?

Limited placements for work experience for secondary school students are offered during the year. These placements are dependent upon the workload of each of our departments at the time. Details of any current work experience opportunities will be listed in the Current Positions Available area on this page.

How else can I get started in the publishing industry?

Entry level positions become available from time to time at Pan Macmillan. Resumes (in Word format) can be emailed to our Human Resources Department (panhr@macmillan.com.au), where they will be retained on file for a 12 month period, and reviewed should relevant vacancies come about. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept portfolios of artwork.

Macmillan Digital Assistant, Sydney

Macmillan is seeking an efficient, enthusiastic self-starter to help build the digital business across Pan Macmillan, Momentum, Palgrave Macmillan, Macmillan Education and Macquarie Dictionary. This includes assisting with the ebook and subscription businesses www.macmillandigital.com.au, www.macquariedictionary.com.au and our new digital-only imprint Momentum www.momentumbooks.com.au. The role will involve digital publishing, distribution, sales and marketing, and help researching and developing new ideas using search engines, social networks, mobile devices, interactive whiteboards and other new channels.

This is a fantastic opportunity to start or develop your career and help grow an emerging business. The position requires a person who is focused, proactive and has a good eye for detail. Ideally the applicant will have some publishing, sales and/or marketing experience within the book industry or a digital environment but enthusiastic, forward thinking graduates are also invited to apply. The successful applicant will have superior organisation and communication skills, advanced computer literacy and an interest in digital publishing and new technology.
