How do I download an ebook?

Once you’ve bought an ebook, you’ll be sent an email explaining how to download the ebook to Adobe Digital Editions on your computer. From there, you can transfer your ebook to a device.

Important note: To access our ebooks, you will need to download Adobe Digital Editions on your computer, or if using an iOS device, the Adobe Digital Editions app.

Unless you are using an iOS device, you can’t download an ebook directly to your device. You will first need to download the ebook to Adobe Digital Editions on your computer before you can transfer it to a device.

See more information and instructions for downloading your ebook.

See more about compatible ebook formats and reading devices.

How many computers or devices can I read my ebook on?

You have 30 days from the time of purchase to download your ebook.

Once you’ve downloaded the ebook to Adobe Digital Editions on your computer, you can transfer it to a mobile device provided the new device is authenticated with the same Adobe ID (usually an email address) as your Adobe Digital Editions library. If the new device is authorised with another ID, you cannot transfer the ebook.

You are allowed to transfer the downloaded ebook to six devices in total.

Titles published under our Momentum and Tor imprints are DRM-free and can be transferred to unlimited devices.

See more about transferring an ebook to a device.

Can I lend my ebooks?

You cannot currently lend our ebooks, as your purchase is only valid for one Adobe ID.

Ebooks published under our Tor and Momentum imprints are DRM-free, so can be transferred to unlimited devices.

Can I print or copy my ebook?

Our ebooks are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management). DRM is a form of copyright protection for ebooks, which limits the number of devices they can be read on and applies copy and print restrictions. In line with other publishers, we apply DRM in order to protect our authors’ copyright. As such, you’re unable to copy or print sections of the text within most of our ebooks.

Ebooks published under our Tor and Momentum imprints are DRM-free, so can be copied or printed.

Why aren’t all your books available as ebooks?

We aim to publish all our titles in ebook format, but sometimes we’re unable to do so.

See more about this in our general help.

Is the content in the ebook the same as in the print book?

In the majority of cases, our ebooks contain the same content as our print books. However, we do not always include picture sections in our ebooks, due to permissions issues.

What do I do if I’ve forgotten my password?
