Giles is a freelance writer of amusing articles for a national newspaper. One day, feeling particularly 40ish, he happens to type "Giles Wareing+unfunny" into a search engine. And that's when he discovers the thread. The thread is called "The Giles Wareing Haters' Club", and is devoted to holding everything he has written up to excoriating ridicule. Tim Dowling was born in Connecticut in 1963. He moved to Britain in the early 90s, cutting short a promising career in data entry to work as a freelance writer, until he gradually became unfit for any other form of employment. He writes regularly for the "Guardian" and is the author of a biography of King Camp Gillette entitled 'Inventor of the Disposable Culture'. Dowling lives in London with his wife and three sons. 'The Giles Wareing Haters' Club' is his first novel.
