Sorasing Kaowai

Sorasing Kaowai was born into an impoverished, illiterate farming family in a remote Thai village. At sixteen years old he became one of the youngest novice monks ever to be awarded the title Maha – Great – for his achievements in mastering the Pali language. Sorasing remained as a novice monk until he finished his high school studies, then disrobed to continue his education at tertiary level. He now holds a Masters degree. Peter Robinson ordained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand in 1993 and spent the following year in meditation in an isolated forest monastery. Using his monk name Phra Peter Pannapadipo, he is the author of Phra Farang: An English monk in Thailand and Little Angels, both published by Random House.
