Up and Down is the first book in a new, high-end illustrated series with a twist. Read one way, children launch up through the atmosphere and out into space to discover what lies above us: from record-breaking birds, planes and rockets, to supermassive black holes and an unimaginable number of stars. Then flip the book and take a journey down from the Earth’s surface, uncovering on the way the hidden life beneath a city and an alien world of deep-sea hydrothermal vents, right down to the planet’s mysterious, fiery core.
With a different topic on each spread and short, snappy text that allows readers to get the key facts in just minutes, Up and Down is perfect for both reluctant readers and committed non-fiction fans who want to understand how our planet works. High production values ensure that this book will make a great gift purchase for the home, while the strong educational content will also appeal to school and library accounts.
Future titles in the series will include Night and Day (autumn 2024) and Land and Sea (2025).
