From the author of Death on the Lusitania and The Spies of Hartlake Hall, R. L. Graham, comes a gripping and evocative historical crime novel, set on the eve of the WWI armistice.
Before the Great War can end, a killer must be caught.
November 1918.
At a railway siding in a forest near Compiègne, north of Paris, a momentous meeting is about to take place. Delegations from the German government and the Allies have arrived to negotiate the end to the Great War.
But extremists on both sides have other plans, and when the driver of the Allied train is found dead, secret service agent Patrick Gallagher finds himself in a race against time to discover the killer.
The stakes could not be higher; the Allies have given the Germans three days to agree to the armistice terms. If Gallagher cannot expose the traitors on both sides in that time, the war will continue and thousands more lives will be lost...
