Author Information

Lauren and Oberon Carter have been living completely waste and recycling free since 2015 and now dedicate themselves to helping others do the same. They have become sought after for their expertise on waste reduction and are the founders of Zero Waste Tasmania.

Lauren is a writer and trained textile designer passionate about home education, gardening, creativity, cooking, community, birth and natural living. Oberon is an ecologist who works to protect Tasmania's threatened species and places. He has been a regular speaker on a range of waste issues on ABC radio and has presented on reducing waste with various community and student groups. Oberon is a qualified permaculture design teacher who is passionate about living with a small ecological footprint. He aims to fully integrate his ecological knowledge with his daily life, with waste management being central.
