A.T. Prewett

Aidan Prewett completed his Master of Film & Television in 2009 and was presented with the coveted Victorian College of the Arts Best Achievement in Direction, as well as Best Documentary Script. Prewett has previously published three narrative non-fiction music books with Crow's Nest (Chicago/Toronto), and has written for Rolling Stone Australia & New Zealand, The Big Issue and Political Animal, among others.

Prewett's short story 'The Weeping Woman' was selected from more than 800 entries as the opening piece in The Big Issue's 2024 Fiction Edition. The Picasso Ransom stemmed directly from this story - a kernel of an idea that just wouldn't go away.

Prewett also teaches music at a high school in Melbourne's east, where he was featured by Rolling Stone AU/NZ in a video profile about his work nurturing Australian musical talent.
