She made her first feature film appearance in the Spanish horror drama The Art of Dying (2000). Much of her early career was spent on television, including recurring roles in the American fantasy series Queen of Swords (2000) and the Spanish comedy series Los Serrano (2003). She appeared in the French comic series Iznogoud (2004).
She appeared in Snakes on a Plane in 2006 alongside Samuel L. Jackson. She later starred in Give Em Hell Malone in 2005 and hit the big screen in The Fast and the Furious in 2009. In 2017, she voiced a part in the animated adventure comedy Ozzy and stepped back into the role of Elena in The Fate of the Furious alongside Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson and Charlize Theron. She more recently starred in 12 Strong (2018) opposite her husband, Chris Hemsworth, and the Australian series Tidelands (2018).
