Jamie Zimmermann
Jamie Zimmermann was raised in Sydney's Hills district. At eighteen he joined the army, became a Commando and was soon part of reconnaissance operations in the jungles of East Timor during the crisis. Sent to Iraq and Afghanistan with Australian special forces, he came home injured in 2007 and was told he would never run again.
After six months in rehab relearning how to walk, Jamie retired from the army as a corporal and founded the Australian Hero Games, designing workouts in the name of fallen Australian soldiers, and raising awareness and money for charities. Jamie now leads his own property advisory team, studies at university and is a role model for young people seeking better futures.
