Pan Macmillan is over the moon to congratulate author, Juliet Marillier on being shortlisted for two Aurealis Awards for her 2019 novel, The Harp of Kings. The Aurealis Awards are primarily for recognising the talents of Australian science fiction, fantasy and horror writers. The Harp of Kings was shortlisted on both the Best Fantasy Novel and Best Young Adult Novel lists.
The Harp of Kings follows eighteen-year-old Liobhan, a powerful singer and an expert whistle player and her brother with a voice so beautiful it melts hearts. Their mission: to find and retrieve a precious harp, an ancient symbol of kingship, which has gone mysteriously missing. Liobhan is both a bard and a warrior in this thrilling historical fantasy.
The sequel is slated for release later in 2020.
Juliet previously won The Sara Douglass Book Series Award at the Aurealis Awards for her brilliant ‘Blackthorn & Grim’ series. The series includes the books Dreamer’s Pool (2014), Tower of Thorns (2015) and Den of Wolves (2016). This prestigious award covered all series ending between 2015-2017.
