Jane Harper, Eddie Jaku, Hetty McKinnon and more longlisted for ABIA 2021
The longlists for the 2021 Australian Book Industry Awards (ABIAs) have been announced. And we are thrilled to share the following titles have been selected in their categories. You can also view the full longlist on the ABIA website here.

- The Survivors by Jane Harper has been longlisted for General Fiction Book of the Year.
- The Happiest Man on Earth by Eddie Jaku for BiographyBook of the Year and The Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year.
- A Year of Simple Family Food by Julia Busuttil Nishimura for Illustrated Book of the Year.
- To Asia, With Love by Hetty McKinnon for Illustrated Book of the Year.
- Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart for International Book of the Year.
- Lucky’s by Andrew Pippos for The Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year.
The ABIA longlists were selected by the ABIA Academy, which comprises more than 250 industry representatives, with the shortlists to be announced on 12 April.
The winners in each category will be announced at a gala event in Sydney on 28 April. For more information about the awards, see the ABIA website.
